A king-tide slams into a stalled hurricane, transforming a quiet Gulf-coast town into a maze of black, churning floodwater 
. Haley thought she had shaken off her past in confined spaces… until a bridge collapses, trapping the rescue team underground, just as a poacher’s cage bursts, releasing hungry balloons into the water

a small boat spins and is sucked into a sinkhole;
eggs crack in a church as thunder rolls in;
a death-defying jump from rooftop to rooftop in 130-mph winds;

Every breath must be measured. Every ripple of water is a signal.
To survive, Haley must swim faster than the rising tide and outsmart the beasts.
