Synopsis
Pit Stop (2013) is an intimate and moving drama about love, loneliness, and quiet resilience in rural America.

The story follows Gabe (Bill Heck), a construction worker in a small Texas town, who quietly raises his daughter while maintaining a complex and distant relationship with his ex-wife (Amy Seimetz). Across town, Ernesto (Marcus DeAnda), a Mexican-American man trying to heal a broken heart, clings to his daily routine and cares for an ailing former lover, all while yearning for a deeper connection.
Through parallel lives marked by waiting and emotional resilience, Gabe and Ernesto’s paths eventually cross, igniting the possibility of a love neither dared to imagine.
With Yen Tan’s sensitive direction and naturalistic performances, Pit Stop captures the beauty of fleeting encounters and the courage it takes to open up to intimacy in the wake of loss. Subtle, moving, and deeply human, it is a reflection on how love can quietly emerge… even in the most unexpected places.
