Jim is a young boxer with a promising future. Trained by his strict father, he spends his days preparing for his first big professional fight. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Whetu, a Maori boy who lives on the fringes of society, secluded in a beachside hut.
As Jim and Whetu grow closer, the young boxer begins to question everything he thought he knew about himself: his identity, his dreams, and his relationship with his father. As the pressure of competition increases, so do his feelings for Whetu, forcing him to confront the reality of who he really is and what he wants in life.
Set against a backdrop of stunning landscapes and captivating cinematography, Punch is an emotional drama about the internal struggle between imposed expectations and one’s true essence.
