Riddick 4: Furya (2025) – First Trailer, Reaction, and Review
“This time… he fights for his home.”
The long-awaited first trailer for Riddick 4: Furya has finally been released, and it’s everything fans of the cult sci-fi saga could have hoped for: brutal, mysterious, and steeped in cosmic mythos. Vin Diesel returns as the iconic antihero Riddick, more raw and primal than ever, in what appears to be his most personal chapter yet.

The trailer opens with an evocative voiceover: “My world was taken from me… now I take it back.” We see glimpses of a ruined planet, Furya, ravaged and tormented by war, with survivors hiding in the shadows. Riddick, long thought dead by his enemies, rises from exile to reclaim his birthright. His glowing eyes scan the wasteland, now swarming with a new generation of bio-engineered hunters led by a ruthless warlord (rumored to be played by Karl Urban).

We see glimpses of epic hand-to-hand combat, ancient Furian temples, and a broader mythos finally coming into play. There’s also a mysterious warrior (Sofia Boutella?) who could be linked to Riddick’s lineage. The visual tone is darker than previous installments (think Chronicles of Riddick meets Dune), with stylized sci-fi landscapes and a savage survivalist energy.

Director David Twohy returns, and the trailer confirms his commitment to world-building, revenge, and pure instinct. The final shot—Riddick, alone on a crumbling cliff with two suns behind him—sent shivers through the fandom.

Riddick 4: Furya looks like a brutal space opera that returns to its roots and expands on the legend. If the trailer is any indication, Vin Diesel could deliver his most iconic performance since Pitch Black.
