In a key scene set in a deserted, rain-soaked train station, the silence before the explosion is as tense as the fight itself. It’s action cinema elevated to an almost poetic level.
The villain, played by Javier Bardem, is a formidable antagonist. He’s not just a criminal, but an ideological figure who challenges McCall on philosophical and ethical levels. His screen presence is magnetic, offering a perfect counterpoint to our protagonist’s silence and determination. The final duel between them is not only physical, but also spiritual, keeping the viewer on the edge of their seat.
Equalizer 4 is not just a brilliant action film, but also a study in justice, guilt, and redemption.
