Following the harrowing events of The Exorcist: Believer, the young woman, freed from the clutches of a demonic entity, begins to experience disturbing visions and violent blackouts. Her mother, still reeling from the experience, fears the evil has returned, but this time it feels older, darker, and far more cunning.
When a series of ritual murders occur in her town, the symbols found at each crime scene match those the girl drew in her sleep. Realizing it’s no coincidence, the mother seeks the help of Father Bennett (Leslie Odom Jr.), now a seasoned exorcist who has faced multiple possessions around the world. But Bennett warns that this is no ordinary case: the demon at work is part of a larger legion, one that has been preparing for decades to fully invade the mortal world.
To combat it, Bennett enlists two unlikely allies: Gabriel Ward (Tom Hardy), a former priest turned fierce demon hunter, and Father Marcus Vale (Keanu Reeves), a reclusive Vatican exorcist whose cool, methodical style masks a lifetime of personal torment. Gabriel’s brute force and street-level tactics clash with Marcus’s disciplined, ritualistic approach, creating a tense but powerful alliance.
As they investigate, the trio discovers a chilling prophecy: the girl is not only possessed, but the chosen instrument of the “Redeemer,” a demonic avatar capable of spreading corruption through entire populations. The demon begins to exploit their deepest fears, forcing Gabriel to relive the failed exorcism that expelled him from the Church and confronting Marcus with visions of the only soul he was ever able to save.
